Group aims to set world record for longest concert while benefiting 16 charities, including the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research.
MARKHAM, ON, MARCH 7TH – Canadian performance-based marketing start-up, CallEngine Inc., announced today that it has become an official sponsor of a live music event that will attempt to set a new world record for the longest concert by multiple acts. On March 17th in Stouffville Ontario, the event, which will feature 400 live musical performers from across the country, will kick-off and attempt to keep going for at least 16 days in order to take the title from the current record holder, a Las Vegas pub who put on a show lasting 372 hours and 10 minutes in 2014.
For CallEngine CEO & Co-founder Ryan McVey, it is an opportunity for the company to give back to their local community and to be a part of an historic event.
“This event is happening in our own backyard and will benefit some amazing charities, so that in itself was enough for us to get involved. As a company that strives to help both local and international businesses succeed, attaching our brand to something that will benefit our community and quite possibly result in a Guinness World Record was a no-brainer for us”, says McVey.
Event organizers, Epidemic Music Group, have teamed up with Indoor Recess PR (Arcade Fire, Blue Rodeo, CBC, Sarah McLachlan, Montreal Jazz Festival), setting the stage for a truly proud Canadian moment.
